Weekly development report: 2020/10/03


The whole week was dedicated to work on the development version of the game. The stable version looks stable... or I'm just blind and don't see obvious bugs :)

  • Finally finished moving the player's ship's crew info to this same screen where other the ship info is. Earlier these information were on a few separated screens. Now it should require less mouse clicks/keyboard actions to get information or set the orders for the selected crew member. Here is how the new crew member info looks and here the new view of a crew member inventory. Still some polishing is required but this will be done later.
  • As usual, some bugs were fixed and some new introduced
  • Under the hood code refactoring and cleanup in this week was very productive. Even by adding the new UI the whole game code was reduced. A new space for new features :)
  • Also the end of the week brings some changes to the project organization: I replaced Travis CI with Github Actions for continuous integration. Now everything is in the one place, also managing it is a bit easier. Unfortunately, the documentation where to find new testing version isn't upgraded yet, should be done in the next week.

And probably the most important information: it is a time for the release a new, shiny (and buggy) development version :) In around 24 hours since this post it will be available on Github releases page.
