Weekly development report 2025/06/14
For a change, this time, a quiet week in the stable version of the game. It's time for another batch of dad jokes to find all the bugs in the game. :) For now, however, there is nothing new to report here. The entire week was devoted to work on the development version of the game.
And the development version is following its path at a normal pace. Again, there is little visible change in the game for players; however, most of the time was spent on new UI and other "hidden" options:
- In the new UI continues in the best yak shaving. As I mentioned last week, I managed to find a solution for showing in-game windows. Now I'm working on implementing this solution. Slowly, all dialogs in the game are updated (or at least there is an attempt to update them) to the new version. Additionally, I added missing wait for rest options to the wait menu, which also resulted in "several" changes to the game code.
- As usual, some work was done on the library used in the new UI.
- Information about factions in in-game help was processed. Unnecessary information about the game's difficulty level has been thrown away; this is only important when starting the game.
- A new visible thing mentioned. Added faction descriptions to the reputation list on the ship info screen. Here, some "hidden" work was also needed to make it look relatively good.
- And as usual, the old code got some fixes, improvements, etc. It turns out that about 2/3 of the works are already behind me. :)
Traditionally: as 4 weeks have passed since the release of the last development version, it's time for the next one. About 24 hours after this entry, it will be available for download. And then the game's spoiling fun will continue. :)
