Weekly development report: 2020/04/18


This time busy week in the development version of the game:

  • Finished work on escaping from the bases without paying for docking: this probably will be interesting only the players who want to play "bad guys": you can now escape from the base without paying but at cost of reputation in the base and small chance to get the ship damaged during escape.
  • Some more serious changes to the game mechanic: crafting recipes can now require the specific tool quality for them. Finally there will be any difference (and needs) between all this bronze, iron, steel, etc tools ;) At this moment the game data wasn't updated yet with this requirement but before 5.0 release it will be added.
  • Other big chance in similar matter: skills can have set training tools quality requirement too. For example to train skill below 25 level you may need bronze tool, to 50 iron, 80 steel, etc Same as with crafting, at this moment only the code is added, the game data will be updated "soon"
  • A few new goals arrived in the game - mostly for other factions than Poleis
  • Standard, some small optimization to UI were made.
  • Some more technical things: also some code cleanup and a few new unit tests are added.

And because since last the development release 4 weeks passed, around 24 hours after this post, a new, shiny development version of the game will be available to download on Github But this time it will be a very special version. It will be the last development version of the 5.0 serie. Thus, work on the stable version will be completely stopped and everything will be focused only on bug fixing, the game mechanic polishing (bugs will be polished also), etc So by the next 4 weeks expect very similar to each other posts :)
