Weekly development report 2025/07/12
Steam Sky » Devlog
And again there is something to report in the game's version pretending to be a stable one. ;) Checking a few things resulted in finding and fixing a few bugs. That's why we have another happy week without dad jokes. ;) Game news:
- Moving dialogue to set the player's goal should now work properly.
- Fixed showing problems when selling or purchasing items.
- A window with a message about issues when selling or buying things should close correctly after a specified period of time.
When it comes to the development version of the game, everything moves forward at its standard pace. The main focus of the work is on the new UI, but additionally a new thing in the game mechanics is being worked on:
- This week, work in the new UI was focused on quite simple screens. Therefore, as many as two of them were completed: treatment of injured crew members and repair of damaged modules of the player's ship at the bases. Currently, work is underway on UI to buy crafting recipes in bases. Then a few more things to check, and I will be able to start working on something bigger. At least that's what I hope. ;)
- As usual, the library used in the new UI is being developed in the background. Here the changes are small, but they are also moving forward.
- The same bugs that were detected in the stable version of the game were fixed in the development version.
- Subsequent changes to the game mechanics are slowly being added to it. I'm still playing with cargo at the bases. This time I'm experimenting with the limit of things in bases. This is another change that may make the game a bit more difficult. Generally, the rule is that the larger the base, the more it can own or purchase items from the player. For now, everything is done in terms of game mechanics. I'm currently working on updating the game's UI, displaying information about free space in databases. And then I'll have to check how it works in reality.
- And as usual, the old code received some improvements, cleanups, etc.
As almost four weeks have passed since the last development version was released, it's time for the next one. About 24 hours after this post, it will be available for download.
