Weekly development report 2024/09/14


As mentioned in the previous week, a new bug was reported here. It is now investigated, caught, instructed, and fix for it will be released soon. :) More details: the game will no longer crash when finishing a crafting order. And the new, more stable version of the game will be available to download in around 24 hours. Then we back to complaining about my blindness. ;)

The development version moves forward with its tasks:

  • The same bug with crashing was fixed here, too. After all, it was first reported here. :) 
  • Added a new icon for showing information about the drinks' amount on the player's ship.
  • Added ability to set the new icon for drinks in the game's themes' system.
  • The project's documentation was updated with information how to set the new icon.
  • The work on the information about owned food, drinks and fuel on the main screen is finished. Here is the promised screenshot, with all three states of amount: below warning level of fuel, normal level of food, and nothing in the player's ship cargo to drink.
  • Fixed button Next when showing the list of recipes to buy in bases.
  • The work on rewriting the game in Nim programming language continues. The debug menu is now moves, I'm back to the main menu code.
  • And the task above triggered some code cleanups in the old code.
