Weekly development report 2025/10/11

Another week and another bug found in the stable version of the game. I wonder how many more weeks there are left. ;) Fortunately, nothing serious this time. However, I'll wait another week to check; maybe I can find something again. And the latest find is:

  • The money information in the game header should now update correctly once a module is removed or installed on the player's ship.

The development version of the game is moving forward at its normal pace. While most of the time is still spent on the new UI for the game, at least eventually some more interesting changes to the game begin to appear as well. Latest changes:

  • In the new UI, the information section about the player's crew members has finally been completed. And I moved on to the next large section, information about the installed ship modules. The list of modules itself is now completed, and work is now underway to show and manage information about the modules. As usual, it will probably take "a little" time.
  • At the same time, work is still ongoing on the library used to create the new UI. This week there were only "maintenance" works such as code clearing, adding some documentation, etc. No new bugs were found. ;)
  • The game header should now update correctly after removing or installing modules on the player's ship. Same as in the stable version.
  • Work on the quality of items in the game has finally started to bring some visible results. The quality of food and drinks began to influence the needs of crew members and their morale. Worse-quality things need to be consumed more often; better-quality things last longer.
  • The same applies to the quality of items used to heal crew members. Their quality speeds up or slows down the healing process.
  • As usual, the old code has received some smaller improvements and should look a little better. Standard fun here. :)
