Weekly development report 2025/10/04


Something new in the stable version of the game. I finally started finding some bugs. The only problem is that they shouldn't be there. :) This week only one thing has been fixed here, but I also need to check another thing to see if it works properly. Latest find:

  • Moving items from the player's ship crew members' inventory to the ship's cargo will no longer remove other items in their inventory.

The stable version is moving forward at a standard pace. I could almost copy the report from last week, as most things are a continuation of previous work. But there are also new things:

  • In the new UI, I'm still in the information section about the crew members of the player's ship. And still at managing their equipment. The only things left to do now are mass actions such as putting on or taking off equipment or transferring it to the player's cargo ship. As usual, it turned out that working on it would take more time than I thought. :)
  • In the background, work is still ongoing on the library used to create the new UI. As in previous weeks, nothing new has been added, only improvements to existing things.
  • The same bug that was in the stable game version was fixed in the development version.
  • A new thing has appeared in the game, specifically a new recipe for medical herb seeds. It is available for purchase in Agricultural bases or for discovery by crafting.
  • Work on the quality of in-game items is slowly moving forward. I'm still updating the money-related code on the player's ship. However, this work is slowly being completed. Then I will have to start similar work on money in the databases. I hope this will be a bit faster. ;)
  • And as usual, the old code got a bit clearer. The word "a bit" is key here. :)

As four weeks have passed since the last development version, it's time for the next one. About 24 hours after this entry, it will be available for download. And then the fun, as usual, will start over.
