Weekly development report 2025/09/06

Finding bugs in the stable version of the game continues. I'm not sure I should be happy to find something. After all, it shouldn't be there. ;) Anyway, there's something to report here again:

  • Fixed scrolling the general information section in the player's ship's information screen with mouse scroll.
  • Using healing tools when treating injured crew members should already work properly.

The development version of the game is moving forward at its normal pace. As usual, the main focus is on creating a new UI for the game. But there were also quite a few internal changes this week, with new things in the game:

  • In the new UI, work is still ongoing on the player's ship information screen. And still more at the beginning than at the end. ;) At least the general information section has been completed. I'm currently in the crew member information section. I'll probably spend some time here, after all, this section contains all the crew management.
  • As usual, I am working on the library used to create the new UI. Nothing new has been added again, mainly the fun is with improving existing code.
  • Bugs found in the stable game version have also been fixed in the development version.
  • I returned to working on the quality of items in the game. Since there were still problems related to quality somewhere, I decided to "somewhat" change my approach to how this option is implemented in the game. On the one hand, it worked, the number of problems began to decline. On the other hand, it caused an avalanche of changes in the code. In fact, this avalanche should have been done anyway, just not in such a violent way. :) Anyway, the work is slowly moving forward.
  • Standard footer: the old code has been slightly fixed and its appearance has been improved. Some things are eternal. :)

As four weeks have passed since the release of the last development version, it's time for the next one. About 24 hours after this entry, it will be available for download. This will mean that we are already halfway to the next large stable version. ;)
